Coffee Break: Marketing Fatigue Rant
from Franklin Taggart's Virtual Coffee Break · host Franklin Taggart
It's gotten too easy to treat people we know as if everyone is a lead or a prospect. The technology and tools we have for communicating make every transaction lose a little or a lot of its humanness. Don't get me wrong, I love this technology, but I am starting to tire of how easy it is to facilitate our connectedness through text messages with Calendly links. Yes, it's convenient, and it loses something in the translation. Taking the extra minute to personalize even our appointment setting makes a difference in the quality of our relationships. The customer relationship is a human relationship. It starts and progresses the same way a friendship does, by building emotional connections. I trust people more who take the time to craft a personalized message to invite me to meet with them. And their personalization makes even a Calendly link more pleasant to respond to. Human to Human.
