Coffee House Sessions with Runaway GO.

from Smoke Radio · host Smoke Radio

The Coffee House Sessions are a chance for you to see some of the country’s most exciting and upcoming artists perform at universities across the country, including at the University of London Union (ULU). 30 different universities across the country have taken part in the scheme where artists perform 30-minute acoustic sets at different student spots up and down the country. All of the artists are approved by BBC Radio 1’s ‘Introducing’ presenter Ally McCrae and the project has previously helped with the success of Hudson Taylor, Stephanie Fraser and many more. Last week indie-pop duo Dave Jackson and Fiona O’Kane of Runaway GO played an acoustic set for the Coffee House Sessions. Having supported Bastille on the Irish leg of their sold-out tour and after working with the likes of Jonathan Shakhovskoy (Beady Eye, U2, Stereophonics) and Geoff Pesche (Gorillaz, Dizzee Rascall), Runaway GO are well on their way to success with their anthem-like pop melodies, vocal range and harmonies. Their debut album ‘Alive’ is due out next year however they have bravely chosen to release every song on their album, one a month for the next nine months. Hester Cant catches up with them after watching their session.
