He grew up in an oilfield home and started working in the pipe yard at the age of 15. Cole graduated from the Miami University with a BS in Business, Economics, Entrepreneurship, and began his career with McDermott International. In December 2008, Cole joined Corrosion Resistant Alloys (CRA), founded by his father John Patchell in 2001. For the first 4 years at CRA, he spent up to 6 months of the year visiting customers in over 50 countries. It was during those years of heavy travel, Cole learned that the industry needed more innovation in the supply of OCTG. This was the start of his passion for harnessing the power of technology in their business. What started as an idea on paper in 2013, has turned into the development of some of the most advanced technology in the world to support the buying and selling of pipe. Today, as President of CRA, Cole is committed to leading the group of CRA companies into a future defined by sustainability and technological advancements.
