Colossians 1:1–2
from Ramah Baptist Church Hosted by Ramah Baptist Church
This is the morning sermon from Ramah Baptist Church in Palmetto, GA on August 23, 2026, and the first message in our new series through the book of Colossians. In this sermon from Colossians 1:1–2, we see that the opening of Paul's letter comes with the authority of Christ, displays the fellowship we share in Christ, and reminds us of the blessings we have received in Christ. Though Colossae was a small, fading city in Paul's day, it received one of the most glorious portraits of Jesus in all of Scripture—Lord of creation and of the new creation, supreme over all things, and a completely sufficient Savior. Nothing needs to be added to Christ for the Christian to be complete: no festival, no diet, no special experience. The fullness of God dwells in Him, and in Him we have been filled. This message calls believers to submit to the authority of God's Word, to treasure the grace and peace that come from God our Father through Jesus Christ our Lord, and to daily walk toward maturity through Christ alone.
