Toxic Positivity is a means of denial by overlaying of positive ideas onto a reality that has some inherently negative aspects. It’s excessive and overgeneralized happiness results in invalidating authentic emotions in oneself and others that are deemed not ok. This then alienates many who feel they must hide emotions and reactions to real circumstances.
