Come As You Are

from The Word at Christ the Savior Hosted by Christ the Savior American Coptic Orthodox Church

We all know that Christ accepted and embraced everyone, especially the lost and the sinful; and we all agree that we should do the same. But do we really empower others to come to Christ just as they are? Do we embody the same love of Christ in the Church? Are our arms really open to everyone around us? Do we have reservations in accepting different people? Do we extend Christ’s loving embrace to those struggling without bias? These are some questions Shawn Hakim addresses in this sermon. As challenging and convicting as this message may be, we’re all called to take the responsibility of lovingly accepting and embracing everyone seriously and without reservations, so that all are free to come to Christ just as they are.
