Come Follow Me for Feb 3 to 9 - 2 Nephi 1-5

from 29th Floor Sunday School · host Ben James

Lehi’s discussion of agency and our choice as to which law we wish to be subject to. On our own, we are all subject to natural law, which is without life or progression or meaning, and inevitably leads to separation from God and misery. In opposition to natural law, Christ put in operation the law of the Gospel through His atonement, and if we choose to follow Christ and enter into a covenant relationship with him, then He will intercede on our behalf and His Gospel will supersede the effects of natural law so that we can return to the presence of God. This lesson also draws from (1) a quote from Elder John A. Widtsoe taken from an old Book of Mormon Student Manuel, and (2) D&C 13:20-21.
