“Come to Me”

from "Prayer Changes Everything" Devotion for Today · host Y.E.S. Jesus Youth Encountering Savior Jesus

August 11, 2024 Daily Devotion: “Come to Me” Matthew 11:28-30 New International Version 28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” There is so much comfort and encouragement in these verses. It’s an open invitation from Jesus Himself, calling us in our weary condition to lay down what’s weighing us down and trade it for rest for our souls. When we are faced with uncertainties in life, when we are weary and overwhelmed, isn’t that exactly what we need? Someone to lighten our load? Jesus promises to be that Someone. “Let me teach you,” He says, leading us to know Him deeper so that we can take hold of that promise. He wants us to understand the peace and rest that only He can give so that we can be brave in uncertain situations. We might not know what tomorrow holds, but we can know with certainty Who holds our tomorrows. We can come to Him to find our rest. We can be brave in uncertainty.
