Writing with someone else not only gives you more ideas for the book and improves your relationship, but it also encourages you to share your work, which is a great way to figure out what works and what doesn't. You are free to do whatever you want with your story. Don't be afraid to play with your characters; make it exciting! Reality can be boring at times.
