Comfort Found in Listeners & Lament

from Temple Cambridge · host TBC

As news of Russia invading Ukraine hits the headlines on our newsfeeds, we begin to see suffering Ukrainians lament their losses. Sadly, more lament is coming as this affects us all at least economically.  Lament is a vent for people to tell their stories of suffering. As we continue in our study of Job 2:11-3:26, we will find two responses to suffering. One is for the comforter and that is to simply listen and pray. The other is for the sufferer and that is to lament to God. Listening and lamenting should be our common responses to suffering. Do you need to listen to somebody suffering? Ask the Lord for strength to do so. Do you need to lament to God in your suffering? He Himself is listening! Which is why we need to lift up in prayer our brothers and sisters in Christ in both Ukraine and Russia and other neighbouring states. Pray for our Ukrainian missionaries, Oleg Stretovich and Ruslan Murataev, to be protected and to be strong witnesses for Christ.
