Comfort Women Remembered In Melbourne, Australia

South Korean ‘comfort women’ were recently remembered at an event in Melbourne as part of ’16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence,’ a movement that started at Rutgers University in 1991 but is now part of an official UN campaign. As it does every year, the campaign kicked off around the world on November 25th, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, and will run through International Human Rights Day on December 10th.
