Comfortableness with ambiguity and uncertainty is the sign of being alive

from Fundamental Expressions · host Y V Chawla

It is only when one does not attend to what one is doing with complete interest that one needs diversions through religious, spiritual activities, talks. Why one does not attend to what one is doing with full interest? One does not bear ‘pain and uncertainty’ as it arises. Escapes give (illusory) comfort. One is trapped. Mind is continuously stirred by positive, negative or neutral impacts. Now the illusion sees as if by religious, spiritual activities, by ideas about God or some other controlling principle-there will be stable relief from the impacts or the impacts will stop at positive. Can one see the fallacy of this hope? The error is that we want ‘to deal with’ the uneasiness that is generated when we face loss, defame, rejection. We fear touching this sense of uneasiness. To let this uneasiness be is to connect to the Original energy. We are always making efforts to seek relief from this sense of uneasiness. Hence dullness, decay. Nothing can exist without contrasting features, day-night, hot-cold, without gap between polarities, today-tomorrow, action-result, without contrasting feelings, pain-pleasure, stress-relief. When you see that there is no escape from duality, no relief from the bondage of duality-you are attuned to supreme relaxation.
