Comm-UNITY! Podcast Season 10 | Introduction Theme: A growing movement of philanthropy taking action on climate change. In the month of July and August, residents of Eastern Uganda had the gut-wrenching experience of losing loved ones, their homes, livestock and livelihoods because of floods from heavy rains. Back in the heart of a very hyper-urban Kampala, every downpour is a waterlogged reminder of the essence of wetlands which we do not see that much of anymore. Karamoja on the other hand has taken a direct hit from the food insecurity that comes with climate change. These few scenarios are a drop in the ocean of the impact of climate change. What we thought was a far-off occurrence is a present-crisis that we need to address. Who is going to address it if we don’t? Who is going to change if we won’t? In Season 10 of the Comm-Unity Podcast, we take you on a journey of climate philanthropy that is powered by the generosity of communities, foundations and philanthropy support organisations from Africa and all over the world.
