Commentary-Commission sticks with Marich and Broadbent grants...may lose them anyway!

Well, I were wrong.  But so was the County Commission.  It appears that by NOT pulling out of the upgrades at Marich Field and Broadbent Park to be funded by SNPLMA, they may not only lose those grants, but have all future SNPLMA grants put on hold as well.  Finance Director Kathy Workman told the commission at the May 14th meeting that she had been advised by SNPLMA that because of the previous commissions horrendous job with the Duck Pond, Jack Caylor Park, and Ruth memorial Mining Park, all SNPLMA projects,  the county should withdraw the Marich Field and Broadbent Park projects and potentially reapply later, or else SNPLMA would red light not only these but future projects.  So it looks like the commission, by not pulling out of the upgrades, they may be hurting the county worse than if they had.  Good job…looks like this commission will never blow an opportunity to blow an opportunity. Hey, I’ll admit when I make a mistake.  Looks like this commission won’t.
