Commentary: Is this County Commission over their head?

Our new County Commission theme song, created by AI, has gotten plenty of positive attention from reasonable people. But, as usual, a few commission supporters are attacking, saying I’m “off the rails” and “don’t get it.” Let’s be honest. Most of this commission has been self-employed and never had to answer to anyone but themselves. They forget they now work for the public and must follow the law—rules they didn’t face in private business. Their lack of understanding shows constantly. This commission isn’t just hostile to employees; it’s even more hostile to other elected officials. Their refusal to take legal counsel seriously could put them in court for creating a hostile workplace. And when that happens—because it will—don’t say we didn’t get it. They didn’t. And even after losing, they’ll still insist they were right. Now, who’s really off the rails?
