Commentary - Running for the Commission requires - or results in - mental health issues
from KELY 1230AM/98.5 FM News and Commentary · host Wyatt Cox
To say that this White Pine County Commission is bipolar is a definite understatement. After their last meeting when they dug in their heels and decided to stick with the current SNPLMA projects despite warnings that SNPLMA might pull future projects if they don’t, this week on the agenda they’re reconsidering pulling the Broadbent Park and Marich Field projects. Also on the agenda they’re planning to neuter the Finance Director position, which is most interesting considering the Finance Director is the one that warned them. Now, it was the last commission headed by Richard Howe and Laurie Carson that got us in this mess. The heat was so bad that Howe sold out and left town. This commission hasn’t learned the lesson yet. When the hole is deep enough, stop digging. With this new commissioners, they just keep digging. If they don’t stop digging, sooner rather than later, the State will end up coming in to fill the hole.
