Commitment to NERDcellence | Chapter 272

Episode Summary This week, the squad doubles down on pure, unfiltered NERDcellence. From Marvel's ever-expanding chaos (and Mark Ruffalo casually leaking secrets again 😅) to DC swinging for the fences with a full-on horror Clayface movie, this episode is stacked. We break down Kingpin's political downfall, Spider-Noir's stylish black-and-white gamble, and why losing Happy Hogan might hit harder than expected. Meanwhile, DC is rewriting the playbook with genre-bending storytelling, The Boys universe is tightening its endgame, and somehow… we still find time to debate fonts, wrestling heel turns, and why honeybees might secretly be the most interesting thing on Earth. If that's not commitment to NERDcellence, what is? ⸻ ⏱️ Timestamps & Topics 00:00 – Intro + Raider vs Niner chaos 03:19 – What's on deck this week 05:10 – Kingpin's future & NYC power shift 08:14 – Spider-Noir trailer (black & white vs color debate) 11:06 – Happy Hogan exits Spider-Man 😢 12:15 – Ruffalo leak sparks symbiote theories 16:42 – DC Lanterns + Green Lantern lore 23:29 – The Authority shelved (for now) 27:07 – Clayface horror movie hype 🔥 33:50 – Headlines (Mummy, Rambo, IT prequel) 45:17 – Rings of Power timeline jump 48:07 – House of the Dragon Season 3 52:16 – Gen V canceled + The Boys crossover ⸻ 🧩 Key Takeaways Marvel may be setting up a symbiote arc leading into Secret Wars Spider-Noir is leaning into standalone storytelling over MCU connections DC is embracing full genre films (not just superhero hybrids) Clayface could become a top-tier comic horror adaptation The Boys universe is consolidating for a massive finale payoff "Change the font" is no longer feedback… it's a philosophy ⸻ 💬 Quotes of the Night "See if the black goo sticks to the wall."
