I don't remember when I started responding "THANK YOU" to guests saying, "Good question," but E Conner said it so often I felt obliged to explain the bit. I was slightly humbled by their admission it's an organizing trick for when you don't have an answer and not the turbo validation I interpret it to be. Fortunately, I don't need permission to self-aggrandize, and I have no plans to retire the bit any time soon.
