I just watched a video on YouTube called, what happens when you play the Soviet Anthem during the inauguration of our student president? President so basically what it is is someone who at what seems like a middle school plays the starts playing the normal music for president inauguration at school but then there's like a disc scratch and the Soviet anthem starts playing and It's a really funny video because when the normal thing plays like everyone see that it's like normal and then the Soviet And them starts playing and some kids start standing up and then you have all those people standing up to like 10 seconds Just as you would during the normal anthem and why I mean I find it funny because none of them are seriously doing it It's just it's just me and it got me thinking about how we mean the Soviet Union and But we don't mean as much things like it's not as accepted things like Nazism And why is that relevant why am I even talking about it communism arguably killed a lot more people than Nazism? But I think the reason why we the Western society is so not so avoidant of Nazism even as a meme or to make jokes about it It's because it's closer to what we know we've been more affected by that than we have by the communism I'm gonna look something up really quick for one of us to next We in that is more is more is closer to us especially in Europe than the Soviet Union But so we union and I'm not even talking about communism in general Because I've killed a lot more people but the Soviet communism the Soviet Union alone killed a lot more people than Nazism It really did it's so many I can't remember, but it's it's more than 60 million I think it's I don't I don't want to don't quote me on this, but it's I think it's more than a hundred million In maybe in total at least of people who died by communism. It's a wise that relevant well, why am I even talking about it because communism is being mean to a Bolivian and That's good because it's really just making fun of it and delegitimizing it I really do think that meaning something just you can't take it seriously.
It's it's funny But it's not funny in the sense that people take it seriously. It's funny because it's become a joke and I Don't necessarily think that completely Not not allowing humor with Nazi like you'd see like people just pulling the other than the Soviet Union flag on videos and like You can still make it funny, but like the Nazi flag that you'd get a knee trick reaction and I don't think that's necessarily good because memeing Like Nazism would completely Digit digit digit. You know what I mean? It's like you can't take something seriously when it's I'm repeating myself over and over and over I want to make a point making fun of something like how like meme code especially like a meme culture does not make it legitimate It doesn't it does the opposite people don't take it seriously anymore.
I mean look at any humor I mean, I don't I don't necessarily think she's funny to begin with but after just being mean the hell out of no one takes her seriously I'm even surprised that she still has shows. I'm really really really happy I don't know anyone who likes it. I don't and I have friends who who consider themselves feminists and things like this and I Maybe I just missed it, but even them. I don't know anyone who legit really likes her comedy.
It's really strange so what's the point of this recording is I This is a controversial opinion. But fuck it. I do think that there's gonna be a point where We are gonna start meeting things like Nazism and I do think that that point will I don't I think that that point will be good because we are still As a culture especially Western culture was still kind of fresh on it and I Don't I don't want people to take I do want people I'm kind of carefully working on the ball I want to take people I want people to take what Nazism has done in the best seriously But I don't think we should give it as much importance now because one there. It's a very very small group very small group of assholes and two it's just If we if we avoid making fun of it if we avoid just meaning the hell out of it Then we are saying that there's something valuable there and I don't think there is and I don't think anyone would say there is Apart from people who are not just but who cares so see my point is that by not letting people joke about it By saying it's not by not letting people not by not making letting people ridicule it through memes and things like this We are taking it seriously but it's not an Active enough movement I feel like at least where I have lived for it to be taken too seriously and so in my opinion not letting people joke about and get it no fender if it's joked about let's it be more legitimate than it really is because I mean like I'm not a fucking rebel If I say like fuck that's his home and but I and I do think I do think like how communism is being mean to hell out of it out of it.
Yeah, whatever and The thing is all of this all of this relies on the premise that when you mean something It loses its credibility. I realize that and there could be counter arguments like flex tape Feel like the memes just get just well It's like the best advertising flex tape could have ever had because I think it's a good product So I do realize that but at the same time I Don't know anyone who takes communism seriously and for those who do I don't feel like it's because of Memes and things like this if anything means would come to the memes would probably piss them off because it box it alright Well make jokes about make jokes about stuff You're always gonna offend someone of course be considerate of people's experiences But I mean don't be afraid of offending people because you're always gonna offend someone and I do think that when I get offended It says more about me in my experiences than the other person. So therefore it shouldn't if I get offended shouldn't regulate how the other person Expresses themselves it just it just tells me something. It just tells me something about myself.
I need to observe All right, I'm Robin. Thanks for listening. Have a good day and also Jay thanks for the mic
