Communities desperate for food in some townships in Gauteng

SAfm — Community members in Alexandra in the north of Johannesburg say they are in desperate need of food parcels to be delivered in the community. Yesterday* hundreds of residents in the township flocked the nearby school in the hopes of receiving food relief after a hoax message circulated in the area. Chaos erupted in the area, forcing Johannesburg Mayor, Geoff Makhubo to visit vulnerable families in the township.
