community college to uc berkeley (ft. Miranda Miranda)

This week we are diving into what the experience is like transferring from a California community college into the UC system. Getting into a good university right now is one of the most stressful processes for students. It has never been so competitive and many are opting for the community college route to complete GEs & prerequisites for their major, which would typically be done the first two years of undergrad, and then transferring to a 4 four-year institution. It’s less competitive and gives students more time to establish themselves, but it has its own challenges of navigating the system on your own. We are discussing: TAG (transfer admission guarantee), imposter syndrome, competition & comparison, life at UC Berkeley, social life, maturity & biology majors. Miranda is a 4th year molecular & cellular biology major at UC Berkeley. She transferred from Citrus Community College after completing three years of general education courses and major preparation prerequisite courses. Outside of lab & lectures, she enjoys going to the beach, art & crafts, and being out in the sun.Share with your family & friends who are in college, high school & the UC system. ENJOY
