Community Connection - September 15, 2026 - Tina Cosby w Univer-SOUL Circus and the City County Council

**Get Ready for a Wild Ride with the Universal Circus!** Today on Community Connection, we're talking about two very different topics that are sure to get your attention. First, we're joined by the talented performers of the Univer-SOUL Circus, who are bringing their high-energy show to Lafayette Square starting September 17th. With their unique blend of music, dance, and acrobatics, this circus is not to be missed. But before we get to the fun, we're discussing the recent controversy surrounding the Indianapolis City-County Council's Public Safety and Criminal Justice Committee meeting. Council President Maggie Lewis joins us along with City County Councilors Andy Nielsen (District 14), Ron Gibson (District 8), and Councilor Keith Graves (District 9), to share their thoughts on the meeting and the calls for the resignation of Committee Chair, Councilor Leroy Robinson. The Univer-SOUL Circus is a beloved Indianapolis institution, and we're excited to have Zeke and So So Fresh in the studio to talk about their upcoming show. From their interactive performances to their commitment to showcasing diverse cultures, this circus is a true celebration of community. But we're also tackling some tough topics, including the recent controversy surrounding the city council meeting. Council President Lewis shares her insights on how to create a space where people feel comfortable sharing their concerns and how to balance the need for order in the meeting with the need to hear from the community. As we navigate these complex issues, we're also talking about the importance of civic engagement and the need for community members to get involved in the decision-making process. Councilor Ron Gibson joins us to discuss the city's budget and the need for transparency and accountability in government.  Don't miss this episode of Community Connection, where we're talking about the issues that matter to you and your community.
