(Community Matters 28) Renk 1964-2023: Special Tribute Program Coming Together to Salute Longtime Radio Host

First Aired April 22, 2023David Renkiewicz had been a successful businessman. But, he had a dream to become a radio talkshow host. He listened a lot; even called in to Battle Creek's WBCK during some local shows.That was the start what led to a 16-year career on the air as "Live with Renk" - and, eventually, a simulcast in Kalamazoo and Lansing. He stepped away from radio in 2022 to work for 42nd District Representative Matt Hall (R-Richland Township).Renk passed away April 17, 2023 after a short cancer fight.In this episode, former WBCK Brand Manager Tim Collins talks about how that call-in as a listener led to Renk becoming a radio host, an unusual way to find future radio talent.
