COMPASSION IN ACTION!
from The Kingdom Of God First Podcast. · host Tewe Kolade Felix
Scripture: Colossians 3:12 (NIV) "Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience." Devotional Message: Compassion is more than just a feeling; it is an action. As followers of Christ, we are called to reflect His love by actively showing kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience toward others. Just as Jesus was moved with compassion and healed the sick, fed the hungry, and comforted the brokenhearted, we are to put our love into practice. In our daily lives, opportunities to show compassion are all around us—whether it's helping a struggling coworker, listening to a friend in distress, or extending grace to someone who has wronged us. Compassion requires intentionality. It is not always convenient, but it is always Christlike. Being compassionate also means seeing others through God's eyes. Instead of judgment, we offer understanding. Instead of indifference, we show care. This is the essence of living out the gospel—allowing God's love to flow through us to touch lives around us. Today, ask yourself: How can I be the hands and feet of Jesus? Who in my life needs a touch of kindness and love? Choose to clothe yourself with compassion and make a difference in someone's life today. Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for Your endless compassion toward me. Help me to reflect that same love to those around me. Give me a heart that is kind, patient, and willing to serve. May my actions reflect Your grace and bring glory to Your name. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
