Compassion starts with ourselves with Dr. Malie Coyne

from The Sharon Fitzmaurice Podcast · host Sharon Fitzmaurice

Delighted to have Dr. Malie Coyne as my guest this week. Malie is a clinical psychologist, author , lecturer in NUIG and an active member of the Mental Health Advisory Panel for A Lust for Life charity. She is very passionate about promoting well-being and increasing awareness of mental health issues, which She achieves through her advocacy work, public speaking and print, radio and TV contributions. In this episode Malie shares with us how She herself manages to juggle life, work and parenting whilst allowing her vulnerability to shine through and saying we are good enough. Malie like me, brings her Angels into all aspects of her life and work and we end the chat with a little Angel guidance. Her first book Love In, Love Out  - A compassionate approach to parenting your anxious child was published on the 23rd July 2020..this is an amazing book and is filled with hands on activities and centres on a compassionate, kind approach, helping you to negotiate the many bumps in the road in managing your own anxiety and that of your children. This book is a must have for everyone! I love it and refer to it so much. Malie has a vast amount of experience not just in life but also professional. She has so much to share with us and is doing so in many ways particularly in the past year, helps us navigate through the pandemic of Covid-19 and how it is affecting all our lives. She is truly an inspirational lady and I hope you get as much from the conversation as I did. Enjoy and please do share with your friends and family. This is a public episode.
