from Film.Music.Media · host Film.Music.Media

Composer Darren Fung whose varied projects over the years have led to him composing many versatile scores from documentaries such as Lost Years, to the Jay Baruchel starring dramedy Just Buried and small indie darlings like Summerhood. One of his most recent scores is to the documentary mini-series, The Great Human Odyssey which displays his amazing talents as a storyteller capable of emotions from big to small. We chat about Darren's background growing up in Canada and how he found the path to film composing. We go into great detail about his work on The Great Human Odyssey, and Darren shares insights about being an "orchestra guy", and how he always pushes for an orchestra on his scores. Darren gives so much great and fun insight especially to composers looking to find ways to push for an orchestra in today's increasingly digital world.
