Composer Interview: Giancarlo Vulcano (November 4, 2011)

Giancarlo Vulcano is a composer who has worked for many years with Howard Shore on films such as Lord Of The Rings and The Departed. He has composed some fantastic scores to documentaries like Unfinished Spaces. He currently works on the music team for NBC's 30 Rock. In this interview we talk about documentary scoring and finding the balance between intellectual and emotional music. We also discuss how music functions on a 30-minute comedy such as 30 Rock.
