Comrade, OUR Birthday

Welcome back, beloved listeners! We’ve returned from our end of year break with Helena’s much delayed birthday episode, and we’re doing Noir this week, specifically featuring Night of the Hunter (1955) and Out of the Past (1947)! After reviewing the fistfuls of movies and media we got into over the break, the Sneople set forth a definition for noir (though they know it’s not the only one) as well as plot summaries for the two movies in case the listener hasn’t seen them yet. From there they get into what they liked about the films and their impact before they end with Helena’s discussion question for the class - how do these movies fit in the noir genre, and how do they differ from the “standard” noir film? At the end of this episode, we discuss if we are going to include a couple of specific movies as our Film Book Club for next time and said we would update you on release day- as such, the current news is that there will be no Sneople Homework for next episode!
