Concealed Matters

from PowerPoint Tribe Global · host Powerpoint Tribe

It is the glory of God to conceal a matter; to search out a matter is the glory of kings — Proverbs 25:2 I have a few Graphic Designer friends, and I get to see the document that is usually attached to a “simple” logo explaining the thinking that births the design—it’s usually AMAZING. That is why when we, who are not designers, begin to question the content of these ideas, the creativity that births these ideas, and ask funny questions sometimes, the Designers can go south (but self-control is still a fruit of the Spirit, Mr. & Mrs. Designer). So Relax — Count it all joy. I am not talking about designs or designers today. When we look at a simple statement in the Scriptures, there might be a temptation to trivialise it as something basic. It might sound simple, but the underlying message is usually deep and intricate. You know how your mom can pack a whole apartment inside a travelling box and make it look easy, but you try it and see. Let’s look at a few scriptures. 1. Evil communication corrupts good manners (1 Corinthians 15:33)—Here, Apostle Paul is telling us that no matter how sound, solid, or strong a person is, if they start interacting, listening, or communicating with the wrong materials, persons, and mediums, their stance will start waning. You’ll begin to see that your threshold is dropping—your persuasion about what was once sacred to you begins to lose value. Your threshold for the counsel you walk in, the way you stand in, and the seat you sit on begins to conform. You are now contemplating ideas that you never would have entertained a few seasons ago. Paul was writing to believers like you and me; he is not oblivious to this truth that what you interface with regularly conditions what you become and do. A Simple statement with intricacies. 2. Be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger (James 1:19) — Simple advice, but not heeding it, has ruined many would-be-great relationships, projects, and enterprises. People have damned consequences because they were slow to listen, spoke too quickly, and were quick to anger. Listen to listen. Listen to understand. Understand, then respond if necessary. Relax, and don’t be quick to anger. We can all learn here. Of course, it isn’t a command to never feel anger. It shows how you should get to Anger — Slowly. I am sure you can keep expatiating on the aforementioned scripture; there have probably been times when you spoke too soon (I have been there, and I am implementing the solution given in the scripture to help me). Simple and Profound 3. For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16)—The most popular. Love gives. God didn’t love and pitied. He didn’t love and stand aloof, He gave. He gave to WHOEVER would believe; as long as they believed, they wouldn’t perish but rather have eternal life. These words are simple, but they aren’t basic. So this week, as you and I go through the scriptures and ruminate on its Truth, as we go through what was taught this past Sunday in church, let’s keep pulling and unearthing its treasures. The matter is not concealed from us, it is concealed for us—we search it out, and in our searching, we get enthroned. God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6). Do have a blessed week and peace within your walls! I remain a fellow Comrade serving with you to actualize the LORD’s Agenda. Ayomide Arowele @arowele.ao
