Concerns Over Motorists Driving At Speed Throughout Clare

from Clare FM · host Clare FM

Residents in one Shannon housing estate are raising fresh concerns about speeding, warning it's only a matter of time before someone is seriously injured.   A social media post highlighting vehicles travelling too fast through Tola Park has sparked widespread discussion, with many questioning whether the current 30km/h speed limit is appropriate for residential estates.  Among those adding her voice is Laura Coady, who has campaigned for improved road safety since the tragic death of her ten-year-old son, Dylan Coady Coleman, after he was struck by a vehicle near Purcell Park in February 2024.   Joining Alan Morrissey earlier were concerned Shannon residents Berni Linnane and Laura Coady, and later joined by Morning Focus listener Steve.  Photo (c) David Wood from Woody's Photos via Canva
