Rip you very much, Buddies! For this latest 'sode on Vinyl Community Podcasts, I'm joined by a great resource in the VC, and that is Patrick aka pbthal. More recently known as The Vinyl Archivist, Patrick is a fixture in the community, running multiple livestreams each week on his channel. We jump into learning about his start on YouTube, within the Vinyl Community, and the beginnings of his record collection. Additionally, Patrick is well known in and outside the community for his process in finding, ripping, and storing the best sounding recordings on vinyl. What started at the end of the first decade in Patrick converting analog recordings to a digital database has earned him high praise and standing in the "ripper" community. We get into that, what his process and approach to ripping albums looks like, and how that impacts the titles on wax he chases to this day.
