Concert Buddie | Too Many Color Variants?

Back in the building Buddies with another pod-exclusive presentation here on Vinyl Community Podcasts! Touching on a topic that's recently been in the news with Billie Eilish and her recent Billboard interview talking about the cash grab that persists with the overproduction of vinyl color and cover variants. Sure, there's a free market component to this topic, but she was also talking about the environmental effects that producing so many different vinyl variations is having from a sustainability perspective. Spurred in part by a recent Melinda Murphy video touching on it (link below), I give my thoughts on the topic, share some poor man's Mr. Science behind vinyl, and share some examples of albums & artists mayyyyybe not needing to make so many copies of their works (yes, Taylor Swift comes up).
