from Vinyl Community Podcasts · host vinylcommunitypodcasts

Back in the building buddies! Still talking records, but this conversation adds a little flavor thanks to a Canadian neighbor 🇨🇦. On this 'sode I'm speaking to SeeJayAre (Charlie), longtime YouTuber and lifelong music fan. If you are familiar with his channel, Charlie has amassed a loyal following of video game hunters, garage sale enthusiasts, and op culture collectors alike, now approaching close to aspirational 100k subscriber mark (just a hair under 93k as of this episode). He had built one of the greatest retro game and physical media spaces through nothing more than dedication and hustle, hitting garage sales regularly over a decade. After a hiatus from YouTube following some life changes, he's back at it as he begins anew, both with his content and his game collection. The conversation gets to learn more about his own journey with music, from the early days of sharing rock music with his dad, discovering a passion for 90's hip-hop as he was growing up, to building his own vinyl record collection in the same fashion as his gaming one. Like one collector to another, we share a similar path in how we build collections of what we enjoy, both for the thrill of the find and a callback to what we've enjoyed for over a lifetime. Charlie generously shares his tips for garage sale success, and a couple of stories of the days (and early mornings) hitting the back roads and subdivision pavement in search of treasures from yesteryear.  We wrap the conversation with another fun lighting round of questions that find Charlie and Concert Buddie both trying to resurrect Tom Green's old hip-hop band (look it up, it happened).  It's the latest and greatest collecting talk known to mankind, only on Vinyl Community Podcasts! 👾   ⏬⏬⏬⏬   For more on guest Charlie (SeeJayAre):' YT: https://www.youtube.com/@SeeJayAre IG: @seejayare   For more on Concert Buddie: YT: https://www.youtube.com/@ConcertBuddie Website: https://concertbuddie.com IG: @concertbuddie   For more information on Vinyl Community Podcasts: https://vinylcommunitypodcasts.com         . . . . . Chinook Realm Religion and crime collide when a gruesome murder rocks the isolated community of Chinook, Montana. Local Deputy Ruth Vogel thought she was answering a routine animal control call, only to find a mangled corpse on the frozen embankment. Her small town is whipped into a frenzy and everyone is quick to point their fingers at a drug-addicted teenager, but Ruth suspects connections to a powerful religious group. Enter Agent Loro, an enigmatic FBI investigator tracking an evangelical cult that may have roots right here in Chinook. Loro and Ruth form a cautious partnership to find the killer—but as the mystery winds through Ruth’s life, her family, and her church, she’ll discover something more sinister than murder is afoot.Binge all episodes of Chinook exclusively and ad-free by joining Wondery+ in the Wondery App, Apple Podcasts or Spotify.
