The twenty-second session of the Conference of the Parties commonly known as COP22 is currently underway Marrakech, Morocco. Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change and the Kyoto Protocol, meet once a year at high level to discuss how to advance international action to combat climate change. Last year, 195 countries adopted the Paris Agreement on climate change, the world's first universal, legally binding climate deal. The conference in Marrakesh, aims to demonstrate that commitments made in Paris are being implemented, and to act as a catalyst for further action.
