Conference: "radius of art" Memory and commemorative culture: Artistic initiatives for public space

Independently run, autonomous artistic initiatives outside official structures have become important factors in art in public space. These projects not only create artistic platforms aimed at incorporating artists but also exploit multifariously communicative, hence social and political, possibilities for contributing to the way public space is treated by the public.
