Confession Nothing to Hide

from ScriptureLinks Daily · host ScriptureLinks

We all have things we would rather keep hidden. Things we’ve said, done, thought, or allowed into our hearts that we would rather nobody else know about. But Scripture reminds us that nothing is hidden from God. Romans 3:23 tells us that all have sinned. Psalm 90:8 reminds us that even our secret sins are before God. Jeremiah 16:17 says that our ways are not hidden from Him. So if God already knows everything, why does He call us to confess? Because confession isn’t about informing God. It’s about being honest with God. In this episode, we’ll look at what the Bible says about confession, the danger of covering our sins, the freedom that comes from acknowledging them, and the incredible promise of 1 John 1:9—that God is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
