Confidence and Love: The Little Way of Saint Therese

This text is an excerpt from Pope Francis's Apostolic Exhortation, titled "C'est la confiance", written to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the birth of Saint Thérèse of the Child Jesus and the Holy Face. The Pope explores the central theme of confidence in God's merciful love in Saint Thérèse's spirituality, highlighting her "little way" of trust and love as accessible to everyone. The document emphasizes Thérèse's missionary zeal and her profound realization that charity is the heart of the Church, demonstrating how her message remains relevant for contemporary believers seeking to live the Gospel in simplicity and trust. It underscores that Thérèse's unique contribution lies in her synthetic approach to faith, focusing on the absolute primacy of love and abandonment to God's will.
