Confronting False Teachers

False teachers are dangerous because they lead people away from the truth.In 1 Timothy 1:3–11, Paul charges Timothy to confront false teachers and protect the church from doctrines that lead people away from the gospel. While false teaching produces confusion, speculation, and empty discussion, God’s truth produces love that flows from a pure heart, a good conscience, and a sincere faith.The law was never given to save sinners but to reveal our sin and point us to the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ.
