Confronting negligent parenting and the white "gun culture" problem

As families make burial and/or memorial plans in Winder, Georgia, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) pinned the father of the 14-year old shooting suspect with an array of charges, including second degree murder. We've learned more about the 2023 incident where a Jackson County (GA) sheriff's investigator visited father Collin and son Colt in 2023 - yet another "warning sign" that went largely untouched. Hear those conversations. Oh, and mother Marcee, has a long criminal rap sheet, too. Not that gun enthusiast and parents with priors can't be good parents; these two just obviously weren't. The boy's aunt tells the Washington Post that he'd been "begging for months" for mental help. Is there a "culture" problem we need to discuss? Social media content creator Jameelah Jones - @SunnyDaeJones - wonders why white families and parents aren't scrutinized the way black families and parents are about "violence" and "culture" in a blistering TIkTok that's gone viral.
