Today we cover the sale of bankrupt genetic testing company 23andMe to biotechnology company Regeneron for $256 million. The sale includes 23andMe's extensive biobank of customer genetic data, raising concerns about the privacy and security of this sensitive information, especially following a previous data breach. Simultaneously, other sources announce that Microsoft has open-sourced the majority of its Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL), aiming to foster community contributions and development with only a few Windows-specific components remaining proprietary.
