Connolly Confronts Trump on War | Belfast News

Irish President Catherine Connolly delivered a bold, unfiltered message to Donald Trump during their historic meeting—warning the world can’t tolerate the normalization of war and genocide. Drawing on Ireland’s painful past with famine and conflict, she framed her nation as a global advocate for peace, standing shoulder-to-shoulder with those fighting for it in war-torn regions. Though their prior exchanges were tense, this formal encounter was diplomatic, calm, and loaded with symbolism: Trump received a St. Brigid’s Cross and poems—including one titled “Ceasefire”—a quiet but potent reminder of her core message. In response, Trump brushed off the gravity, touting his Iran deal and oil prices, while leaving behind a simple note: “A GREAT HONOR TO BE HERE THANK YOU.” Listen in comfort:Get a discount on a Soli Pillow: http://solipillow.com/discount/dnn.
