Conquering Controversy
from The Howitzer and Buzz-saw Show Hosted by George Gerbo, Mike Asti
For the first time in 11 years the championship season on the Spring sports calendar includes Tiger Woods as a major champion. George "the Howitzer" Gerbo and Mike "Buzz-saw" Asti soak all that was Tiger's 15th major. Where does Tiger winning the 2019 Masters rank among the greatest sports comeback stories? What led to this finally happening? How was this major win different from the ones of the past? Will Tiger now win more major titles, maybe even another one this summer? After Tiger Mania, George and Mike focus on the Stanley Cup Playoffs, most notably two surprising upsets. Where does the Blue Jacket's shocking sweep of the Lightning after their historic regular season rank among the biggest upsets in NHL history? Did the Penguins, and the rest of the hockey world, just simply overlook the Islanders? While these Cinderella stories have certainly been the story of the playoffs so far, Mike tweeted that they might not actually be best for the league. This then triggered outrage across Twitter. Mike defends his claim that it's actually better for the NHL, as it is any league, to have its top stars like Sidney Crosby or Alexander Ovechkin, big markets and great teams in the playoffs as long as possible. Does George agree with this perspective or will he side with Mike's trolls? Find out on this edition of the Howitzer and Buzz-saw Show, which conquers sports radio, one day, at a time....
