Consciously building scripts for constructive habits | Ed Talks Live

from Ed Talks Daily: Holistic Lifestyle and Motivation · host The Holistic Motivator

Hello Powerful People, this is part 4 of 4 segments of a seminar entitled “How to Build Constructive Habits” that I hosted for United Way Broward and I talk about consciously building scripts for constructive habits. Here are some notable points: Practice Self-Discipline to get yourself to do things you don’t want to do at the moment. Take out a sheet of paper and write down your mental scripts and label where you gained this philosophy/script. Who’s philosophy did you adopt that is not yours? Create a list of new scripts that aligns with how you envision yourself. Keep that script in your imagination. Compare the results of negative scrips vs positive scripts and choose to Let the pain points become a challenge. Find out why you don’t want to do something and challenge yourself with Get rid of “I AM” statements that claim what you don’t want. Don’t say I AM fat, Say I am working on improving my health. Say I’m ready to tap into the person that’s within myself and make a determined effort to become the ideal version of yourself. Identify a Keystone Habit- The number 1 habit that you can do that is important enough to you in order to start the process of engaging in many other constructive habits. Believe that you can build the ideal version of yourself and work on yourself enough to make that happen. Notable Quotes: -“It has to be an actuality before it actually happens.” -“You have to be convinced that you are the person you want to become” Keystone habits act as the inertia that moves the rocks and close the door on your habits and give you the blocks for the new ones -See the difference between the image you have for you and the image you are looking at. -See yourself in action in reaction to your circumstances and comparing that to what it is that you want for your life.
