Conservative or Progressive, Which is More Christian?

There's lots of name calling among Christians, calling each other "liberal" or "conservative" which might be translated "sell out" and "backward" respectively. But what do we mean when we use these terms? What does it mean to be "progressive" and what is their understanding of moral "progress"? What makes a Christian "conservative" and what beliefs lie behind that label? Is either option more consistent with a Christian worldview?
