Consider This: Children (Part 3) - Statelessness Barrier To Rights?

from Consider This · host Consider This

It was estimated that there are some 300,000 stateless children in the country.  That’s data from 2016. Many of these children deemed stateless are not foreigners or refugees -- many of them were actually born in the country and have been living in Malaysia most of their lives. What can we do to ensure the rights of these children are upheld? Melisa Idris and Sharaad Kuttan speak to Professor Datuk Dr Noor Aziah Awal, Commissioner, Human Rights Commission of Malaysia (SUHAKAM) that looks at Children’s rights.
