Consistency Over Motivation
from Living Limitless · host Clint Riggin
Good morning, Limitless Family! We are back in Tampa after a crazy couple days. Flight cancellations, hotel cancellations, I mean you name it, we probably experienced it, but I’m going to talk about how I was on a podcast interview the other day. Someone asked me a very pivotal question. They said, “Clint, what is your driving force to wake up every day motivated and determined to succeed?” As they asked this question, I knew my answer and something which some might not like. See, motivation is complete bullshit, while consistency will win every time. See, I’m a human. I can tell you I’m not motivated to wake up at 3:30 every single morning. Who would be? I did not know that over the last 11 months of being consistent has changed my life in more ways than one. Consistent content, consistent podcasts, consistent sales, consistent growth, consistent gym routine, consistent nutrition, consistency in showing up. As you see, there’s a pattern of consistency throughout my life, and without that I would fall off track. I have taught myself to be a scheduled person, but it was not always that way, believe me. I didn’t have a morning routine. I didn’t have a night routine. I didn’t have a routine in general. I started to create those small changes, creating consistent habits, building up the identity within myself over time. Those consistent, healthy, habitual habits is key. Motivation is great, but you can only be motivated for so long. But, when you learn to be consistent in all areas of your life, that’s when you’re truly going to see the change.
