Consistent in His Character

What if the Fruit of the Spirit isn't just about becoming more like Jesus, but about discovering how beautifully consistent God's heart has always been toward you? Graham Cooke opens this month's focus with a stunning revelation: when we practice the fruit of the spirit, we're learning to become "consistent in His character"—constant and unchanging like He is. Key Scriptures: + Galatians 5:22-23. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. + 1 Corinthians 13:1-8. If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing...Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails. + Isaiah 61:2. To proclaim the favorable year of the Lord and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn. + James 1:2. Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials. + Romans 8:38-39. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
