Constitution Alive: One Life To Give

One sentence can outlive a battle and outlast a lifetime. We start with the true story of Nathan Hale, a 21-year-old who volunteered for an “impossible” spy mission, got caught, and still used his last moments to speak for the American cause of liberty. When we repeat “I only regret that I have but one life to give for my country,” we’re not quoting a slogan, we’re hearing a challenge: what are we doing with our one life to give?From there, we get uncomfortably personal about honor and gratitude. Saying “thank you for your service” matters, but it can feel thin if we aren’t also protecting what that service secured.
