Constitution Court ruling on disciplining children

SAfm — The Constitution court has ruled that the common law defense of reasonable & moderate parental chastisement of children is unconstitutional. This comes after a man convicted for assaulting his 13-year-old son argued in his defence before court that he administered moderate and reasonable chastisement under common law. The case was brought before the apex court by Freedom For Religion South Africa.
