Constitutional Court provides clarity on contested Immigration Directive 21 of 2015

SAfm — The Constitutional Court says there should not be a blanket approach when dealing with the issue of the Immigration Directive 21 of 2015. This relates to a case of four asylum seekers who sought to apply for temporary residence after their applications were rejected by the Department of Home Affairs. The applicants wanted the Immigration Directive of 2015 to be declared invalid and unlawful. The matter was taken to the apex court after the Supreme Court ruled in favour of the Department of Home Affairs.
